Icon12 Is my AD Evil?

So as I posted in my new member post http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=213022 I now own my first Rolex, a TT Sub. I purchased directly from my AD, in my opinion I got a pretty good deal, and no I don't want to discuss the deal in case I didn't.

I went back yesterday as I had a simple question, and I ended up leaving with all of this (see attached)

Now in my opinion this is just evil... Knowing I am a watch addict, and now have my taste of a Rolex I think he is just trying to reel me in...

My wife is convinced he is the devil.

(He is actually a really nice guy, and fun to talk watches with)

If the pictures are not clear, here is the list:
  • Green Rolex Pouch
  • Rolex cloth
  • Rolex/Collini cloth with green trim
  • Small 4" x 6" Oyster Perpetual brocure
  • Rating Rolex guide
  • Rolex catalog (Datejust and YM on cover)
  • Large 8" x 10" Oyster Perpetual brocure

Nice freebies, however if she thinks your AD is evil I hate to think what she would think about us.

Nice freebies! I got my Sub C from an AD a while ago and got a glass of water. BTW, the TT Black Sub on your avatar looks awesome!

I'm not sure about the evil part, but my AD knows my weaknesses and has played them very well.

I wouldn't call their tactics pressure-sales, but they do know how to tug at my heart strings.

What an evil man, our society fought for centuries to fix boundaries and yet he managed to cross them without any regret...

Great gifts indeed, he sounds like a nice man!

I received a Rolex Key Fob leather pouch. Since the newer car keys are pretty large a regular key chain doesn't do the trick. It is really cool.

Fantastic stuff! My AD are nice people to deal with but after several purchases over the years not so much as a bookmark.... They must have bigger fish to feed than me!

Check your AD's watch, if it is permanently set to 6 seconds after 6:06 am, run away!

Funny thing is I didn't ask for anything from him on this visit, and when I bought the watch he gave me nothing...

Now I will for sure keep my wife away from you guys, as if she knew I read this I would be done for sure...

Funny thing is after seeing this forum I now have my eyes on one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140609755883...ht_7594wt_1180
(not that I would get it from eBay, but that is a good place for me to see older watches)

but I am torn, should I go back to my AD and ask for my current catalogs, bottle of water and a winder? or would I just end up walking out with a gold GMT II?

...Scott

I got a Wolfe winder from my AD the last time - very nice guy to talk to too even when I stroll in the store without intention of buying.

the real benefit if you have a relationship with an ad is that they will offer you special watches before they ever get put in the case.ss daytona is one of the watches.of course you have to buy a watch once in a while.
