On a Rolex, all that glitters is GOLD....and you can take that to the bank!!!
That's right, guys. No more talk about PLATING, GOLD-FILLED and ROLL GOLD as far as Rolex is concerned.
Anything YELLOW on a ROLEX is indeed 18 K (750) GOLD.....and you can take that to the bloody bank!!! Yes, the crown too is an 18 K MONOBLOC cap of GOLD... Here's the beautiful clasp with 18 K gold FUSED onto the steel below!! The underside of the bracelet is BRUSHED gold!! And the top side is POLISHED gold!! 18 K gold bezel!!!

I like Rolex Gold. After it gets scratched up a bit and when the light hits it at certain angles throughout the day, it also gives it that worn tarnished Brass look that I like!

I love the design of the gold on Rolex watches so much. It doesnt matter what model or bracelet, it just looks good!

Well, for me it is that DIAL combo of silver with that ever so slight "sun ray" effect and the applied YG dial figures that does the trick. Simply an awesome classic combo that IMHO one would never get tired of

JJ, how old is your TT Blusie now? And do you have any recent pics of it? I'd love to see them!

I like the way Rolex can stick a gold plate to a stainless steel band - very clever IMO.

Otto that's a great looking watch there. What's the price of a day date like this?

I fell in love with 18k gold when I went to Italy. I was stationed in Germany and my brother was in Aviano Italy. We took leave together and we spent 45 days roaming around Northern Italy.
Making the trip to several gold factory outlets was cool. The guy with the micro Uzi at the door ensured that we didn't bolt with their goods Rolex does 18k better than the Italians and that's saying something. |

I am not sure whether it IS the same colour, but you are right: On one of your pics it DOES look more silver-like. The dial I like is however always silver, under all light conditions.

JJ, you really asked for those responses.
Now on a serious note (REALLY). On the DD, is the dial solid gold too? I also sort of recall Ironstark (I think) once mentioned that the springs in the bracelet pins were not solid gold, due to strength issues. Is this correct? John. |

And what springs are we talking about in the bracelet pins? I don't think there are any springs there. JJ
