slow day rollover on daydate

I have a friend who owns a gmc dealership and when I went to go trade in my old car for a new (certified pre-owned) trailblazer we sparked up a convo about his new day-date...He says he loves the watch and all but he said at midnight it takes a long time for the day to change...He says the date changes right @ 12 but the day takes up to an hour to roll over to the next day...Is that normal?

Thanks in advance!

The date change should be like snapping your fingers. If it isn't then there is something wrong

Day and date change should both be simultaneous changing with a "snap".
I'd say that the day wheel might be in need of a clean. This means either warranty or a service. Not a big deal, but it can happen when the lubricants have dried out.

I had a similar issue with my Day-Date right after I had the dial changed at RSC Tokyo; but it was with both the day and the date. I took it back and they said it had to do with lubrication; mre specifically, the absence of it at a critical point. It was an easy fix and they charged me nothing. I haven't had a problem since then.

How old is the DD? If it is not a "Double Quick" that might explain it.

Got to agree with Bo if its a older pre quickset DD then its perfectly normal. But again as long as the day changes would not worry two much about it.
