Rolex Oysterdate Precision 1947

My 6694 1947. I grabbed this from someone that didnt like the style and his Father who passed left him his 18kt sub. What do you guys think? I love the roulette red and black odd even numbers. I think this speaks volume. I dont have this yet. I paid 1200.00.

It looks very nice, but it's about 10 years younger than you think (ca. late '50s).

Ser # 442xxx Movement 1215-1225. Is this when they rolled back in 52-53 to 100000 numbers again? I was told its a 1947 but maybe the seller also didnt know about Rolex rolling the numbers back to 100000. Can someone one date this for me as i do not have this yet. And would this be a 34mm or midsixze 30mm? Also what number should the end links be stamped? I just got this message from the seller. Hey Good Morning. I took it to a rolex dealer in new jersey he shown me a listing of numbers and pictures this watch is a MANUAL WIND, SERIAL NO. 442794, CASE NO. 6694, MOVEMENT NO. 1215-1225 that was made in late 1946 sold in 1947.

It's a 1959 (or thereabouts). You are correct that Rolex started their SNs afresh in the early '50s, confusing everybody later! The Oysterdate model only made its first appearance in 1952 with the ref. 6094 (which had a Super Oyster crown). Both that and the ref. 6694 are 34mm. Either #57 or #60 end pieces will work with a 7205 riveted Oyster bracelet (those in the photo seem to fit well). That watch is in very nice condition, indeed, and the price you quoted seems fair if it includes the bracelet (assuming the latter is genuine).
