Rotating Watches

Okay how do you guys and gals rotate watches on your wrist? I have two Rolexes and can't bear to take my Pepsi off long enough to put the other one on. Even though it's a great watch(Sub No Date)the Pepsi doesn't seem to want to leave my wrist. Every time I think about it I shudder and my hands don't want to work.....so what is the solution???

Hi Leo.

Its a watch. More or less the same as the 20 odd others I have kicking around. Looks more or less the same, does essentially the same thing. One day its a Rolex, next day might be a Longines, day three might be a 1917 Russian survivor. They're all special to me in their own way. I often go for a week or more without wearing a Rolex, there's just so darned much more to explore.

I rotate a lot of watches, mainly at the weekends.

Since joining the Forum I find I am motivated by the threads and pix.

EG. I am going to get my Pepsi out now and wear it today.

I haven't got to the shuddering and frozen hands stage ..... yet.

Hang on....Al just mentioned Longines.....

I mostly rotate them with my mood. If I want to wear some gold I help myself, if I want to wear sportier watches in SS I pick one up. There's no need to give them a specific wrist time in my opinion, if you want to wear your GMT more often it's just alright!

I think if you really like every watch you own, you'll just naturally want to give each some wrist time (at least that's how it works for me). Maybe this is a sign that the Sub No-Date needs to be replaced?

Mine tend to get chosen (rotated) depending on the type of occasion, but roughly I choose according to -
sporting events like Super Bowl vs. the kids gymnastics tournaments,
playing hockey vs golf,
playing with the kids,
romantic special occasions (dinner in the dark vs hitting the jacuzzi)
sleeping at the office, (meet with the staff vs. a Board Meeting
dinners (callout for pizza vs Le Cirque.)
hanging out by the pool,
vacations,
and last but not least,
my weekly meetings with my parole officer

I have 5 but 3 never see any wrist time (movado, rado, tecno marine) and my other 2 are a date just and B&m capeland s, it seems like the cap land gets 70% of the time because it has a black face and my datjust has a blue face so I only wear the date just when I wear something blue as stupid as it may sound.. That's why I am saving up for my grail 116610 sub that will take over workhorse over the b@m..

I have sub c lv that was my everyday watch till I got my pam 88 back from a service and it was glistening so I bought a new strap and have been wearing that one daily, I also have a brand new daytona that I only wore once and have decided to make that my special occassion watch. Sick thing is that Im buying a pepsi now and I don't know where that will fit into this equation. Is this a sickness....

I really enjoy piling out which one I'm going to wear each day. I know it's sick but I love it!

I can never force myself to take off the one I have on, that's how I know I love each one. So...I've decided to give each one a purpose to force rotation. Seems to work.

I think you already have the answer. Wear what you like, if you don't want to take it off... well then don't. Give it some time and things will change. You'll wake up one morning and look at the other watch and think: "what a cool watch", and put it on.

To me, it's about what colors I'm wearing that day I'm lucky enough to have black, blue and white dials in my collection so I pick the watch to suit what I'm wearing

For me it is about a combination of two things: 1) my schedule for the day (weekend, client meetings, office work, travel) and 2) what I am wearing that day. That helps me choose from the SD, Blancpain Trilogy, Omega great white, Nomos Tangomat, Helson Ti Shark Diver, Tudor Date-Day jumbo, or Seiko OM.

I think it helps to have fewer watches, so fewer decisions! I have more than two watches, but "only" two Rolexes. I find the decision of which to wear situational. Business, esp. business travel, it's the GMT IIc. Sports, most other times, my 5513 Sub. Right now, my Sub is at RSC for routine maintenance, so when the GMT isn't on my wrist, it's a Ball Night Train (great for low light with its always glowing tritium markers - when it was new, in movie theaters it seemed almost as bright at Ironman's power disc!). Every now and then (when it may be too dicey to wear any Rolex), a Luminox.

I get it but I have always wanted a Pepsi for more than 45 years and finally bought mine 4 1/2 years ago.....it's just hard to take off. I also have wanted a Sub ND since Goldfinger so I have it but it sits in the safe ready to use. Maybe having two left arms(thus wrists)would be a good solution and I could wear them at the same time!!!
