Daytona Functions
Can someone explain to me what the functions are on a Daytona?
I know one dial is a stopwatwatch what are others? What purpose do the numbers on the bezel serve and how are they used? I did a quick web search and didn't find any explanation. Thanks Bob |

Uhh, say there's a racetrack. You follow the #1 car around the track and the track is EXACTLY one mile long.
When he passes the starting line, start the watch. When he passes again, stop the watch. The numbers will tell you what the average speed of the lap was. The main dial measures seconds, one subdial measures minutes, and one measures 0.1 seconds, and I assume the 3rd measures hours (know about the first two, but this last is a guess). I assume this is correct due to the fact that's the way my Tag Indy Chronograph works. Hope this sums it up.

Two of the "circles" or "Subsidiary Dials" as they are called: the subsidiary dials at 9 and 3 o'clock (on the Daytona cal. 4130) are measuring minutes and hours elapsed when the chronograph is running. The subsidiary dial at six o'clock is the continous running seconds for the watch itself, but the large hand that stands pointing at 12 (when the chronograph is not running and has been reset but the button at 4 o'clock) is the chronograph hand.
The numbers on the outer bezel are for calculation for example speed. This scale is called a "tachometre scale" See brochures on how to use the Daytona here: HOW TO USE THE DAYTONA > CLICK HERE
