I'm with JJ on this one - it doesn't quite fill the bill. For that amount of money think what a collection of Rollie's and Pannie's you could build!!! Larry

The older I get, the less I care for the overly complicated looking dials that do everything except tell time at a glance.

If I were crazy enough to spend that sort of cash on a single watch it would be this one :

The Governor of the state of California where I live, "The Governator" himself wears Audemars Piguet watches.

I think they are definitely very high end luxury watches and a great brand in many respects. The Royal Oak is also a classic design. They look really good but I still prefer my Rolexes any day of the week.

I heard that some of the Audemars Piguet watches are only water resistant to 50 meters. While its more than enough for me, I expected a higher rating from such a fine watch.

I would agree with Paul, I would rather go Patek Phillipe, Bregeut, Glashutte or Girard Perregaux if we were talking that price range of fine watches.

They are not just some high end company. They are hands down one of the top 3 big guns in the world of horology. They don't make their name of spending 50 million a year in marketing like Rolex, they don't have to. They aim their watches at real WIS, not the everyday person.

Yes but our Governator wears the "End of Days" model, which, while named after probably his worst movie, is a nicer looking watch than this racer boy version. It seems like every time a watchmaker does a series for car racing they have to put too many colors, subdials, and distractions in, starting with the Rolex Daytona, to the Panerai Ferrari brands, etc. One exception might be the Chopard 1000 Mille (or whatever the Italian name is)

There are some absolutely exquisite AP watches, and even some gorgeous Royal Oak versions. Just not the Barichello follows Shumacher version above.

What's the 0-60mph time? Should be about the same as a Corvette!
