The 2011 AP ROO Chrono - anyone pulled the trigger?

Hi Guys. So pleased that that we now have a dedicated AP forum
I've been considering the new AP ROO Chrono in stainless steel. My local AD has told me that he'll call when one comes in, but it's taking forever and the wait is killing me.
Has anyone added one to their collection? Would be grateful for pics/info/views.
Many thanks in advance

Hi, I have the rose gold ceramic version of the new 44mm, a great watch with many enhancements to the older 42mm. Not sure about the new tang buckle but I does help to balance the watch out better even though it does not look as pretty as the clasp. I am hoping to add a SS later in the year if the prices stabilise. Best of luck.

Love the new 44mm SS ROO with the ceramic bezel. That's my favorite non-LE ROO. I recently got the ROC instead, but would love to see more of the new ROO as well. I don't think they are that easy to find yet.

Hope you'll get the call from your AD soon.

Cheers,
James

The SS ROO Ceramic is easy enough to find just depends on the price you are willing to pay. Try Chrono. Many dealers in main land Europe have them.

Yoda - What's the current position re pricing on the SS model? Scarcity/New model = no discount/limited availability? Some insight would be useful before I talk to my AD

Thanks for posting these great shots Thomas. The rose gold is just glorious, but way out of budget and considered aspirational.

Mluther, you are roughly looking at paying about 21k euros if you shop around. Your best bet would be a grey dealer with a store. By AD if you are looking at a main AP dealer you will be hard pushed to get more then 10% as the watch is so new and sought after. Let me know how you get along.

In addition AP have had problems producing the new dials so I was told by Marcus in Bond st London. So supply may be an issue vs demand. Again Chrono would be your best gauge.

I also heard that AP were having "distribution" issues from my local Hublot AD, but was not sure why - assume that the reason is as you heard from Marcus's. Will keep you posted on any news at my end - thanks guys for your comments and some great shots...

So I got a call from my AD to come take a look at the CARBON version of the new AP ROO Chrono. It was the SS that I wanted to see, but hey, thought it would be good to get an idea of feel etc..

So off I trundled.

The first one I've seen in the flesh and WOW, just WOW. What an absolutely gorgeous watch. Sat on my wrist beautifully and looked a million dollars.

I'm still going to wait to see the SS version.

My only gripe was the strap - will def change this out to something else with a proper clasp as opposed to the buckle (assume this can be done).

Really sorry guys that didn't take any shots in the AD.

Sooooo hooked

Myself prefer the Carbon over the SS but either one would be a great AP

Sorry guys update. I went in to my dealer to look at the ss chrono in 44mm and walked out with the carbon 44. Wow what a watch. My 44mm RG has been retired to my safe. This watch is getting all my wrist time. The most balanced watch I have ever owner.

Ref you comment about changing the tang buckle to clasp, no they are not interchangeable but you can purchase any of the GP straps and fit them to the 44mm.

Congrats Yoda - I was really impressed with the Carbon too. According to my AD it had been on back order since Jan 2011 and sold as soon as it hit their showroom last week. They are having issues on delivery - so who knows how long it will be before I get my crack at the SS. Enjoy the watch and even though I had the Carbon on my wrist not that long ago, always good to see pics to drool over
