First Rolex

I picked up my first Rolex today. I saw it and it spoke to me. This is my first 'high quality' watch purchase. This is a pre owned watch, but from what I could tell (and I'm no expert) in pretty good shape, and I think the price was right. The watch was manufactured in 2001.

I do have a couple of questions:
1. How should I go about getting it appraised?
2. Given that the watch is 11 years old should I have it serviced right away? Where should I send it for service?

NICE. Love that dial. Do get it serviced. Use the paperwork for appraisal purposes. Congrats.

Yes a service is a good idea at this time,I`d send it to RSC Dallas unless you have someone locally that you trust.

Nice watch by the way I like the dial !

Wilson, congrats on the watch, it is very nice. I had to get mine appraised for insurance purposes and found a local place that does it. They charge $50 for the paperwork and $7 for every $1000 of appraised value. You just walk in and they appraise it on the spot, but the paperwork takes 1 day to complete. Look up appraisers in Connecticut, you should be able to find somewhere local.

Thanks guys! Wow this is an active forum, very cool. Yes, the thing I like the most about this particular watch is the dial. I think it's a little unique.

Yes that is correct, it is a champagne tapestry dial according to the original paperwork. I feel lucky to have found it.
