Red Seadweller found

I was looking for watches, out of nowhere I was offered a Red Sea dweller.
The store owner (consignation) did not have it at his store but will send pictures.
With papers and box, from what he told me in good condition.
No more information on which year it was bought or what version it is, I will just have to wait I guess
Keeping my fingers crossed!
Dang, gonna be a long sleepness night me thinks
Are there big price differences between early and late versions?
Still have to check doubleredseadweller.com but really curious, taking a bus in a minute for a 12 hour drive ... and back if buying argh
Anybody got a link on fake red sea dwellers for spotting one with examples if possible, never can be too careful.

You may have found quite a collectable watch, or else a piece of junk.

Post some pics when you can.

John.

What do you mean exactly by that? Either genuine or a fake?

Yes. As you are well aware, the DRSD's have been very heavily faked.

Be VERY careful, do your research, and ask many questions.

Post as many pictures of this watch here (especially close ups of the dial) to get opinions.

Prices WILL vary between versions, and with B&P's expect to pay dearly.

If it's a Mk. I (you would wish) with B&P's then you will have to fork out at least US$100k!

Mk.II with B&P's around US$40-50k.

Mk.III with B&P's (as per Mk.II). Some consider Mk.III more rare than Mk. II.

Mk.IV with B&P's (most common) expect to pay around US$30-40k.

The same as the white 1665? Yes.

It's amazing how a little red paint changes things. Anyway a white 1665 will still cost you around US$11k+.

Same goes for the 1680 Red Subs, compared to white 1680's.

Not to mention the 62XX Daytona. An "ordinary" non PN dialled one will cost you around US$30k, BUT add the PN dial and the price is over US$100k!

Vintage prices ARE CRAZY.

Aw, sorry man.

And after the shop owner described it as "good condition."

Bummer.

Oh well, can't have em all, the pain is softened by the fact that tomorrow I got an appointment to see a Longines rattrapante, an Omega Speedmaster 321, a Rolex ladies watch, very small from the 20's and a complete plastic bag of garbage watches lol.

Did buy 2 "never out of the box" NOS Longines Conquests from the 70's blue dials with box, gold Longines 'silver arrow' with solid gold dial and 3 automatic chronographs so my travels this time where not a complete waste luckily.

And I got offered a normal sea dweller with box and papers but have to wait 4 weeks to see it, guy is traveling himself.

Yeah, what one sees as good condition, the other sees it as bad.
Have learned never to take somebodies word for it about the condition of a watch until I see it with my own eyes.

What's PN ?

Sorry, but I don't have a clue...
Plus how much would a double-red go for without B&P ?
Thank you!

"MK" = "Mark"

"PN"??

I would like to know that, too!
