Need help to identify these links :D

Greetings folks!

I came across these links and I wanted to know if you knew when/what Rolex they were originally with? I know it seems to be a bark finish. My friend who supplied them believes they may be from the 50s? 'oval' not half round links?

He is interested in selling these and first we are in research mode. Thanks much!

Looks to me like links from a President bracelet. I doubt it is '50s era. Could be worth something as it is gold. Do some searches on President bark and see what you find. This is just one quick example.

I've never seen president links like that, usually they are shaped like the D links that Eric posted.

This one is older and is not D shaped. Again, so I am told! Anyone ever see these FULL rounded links/oval? I know Rolex did do oval, just older.

This is correct. Also the JB links were folded and after that became oval and next D shape. I do not know the period. Are these genuine ? It seems that the bark part is too wide. May be because it is the part closer to the clasp. And seeing the screws, there are the two different ends put together.

Bark oval links looks like 2 were put together opposite so screws and threaded holes on the same side no biggie but I can say I have never seen oval bark pres links new one on me. Rikki

I have never seen a president oval link band let alone a bark 1. Maybe they are not even Rolex ? Or I just have not seen 1 interesting. They made the bark band in the late early 60's along with some other interesting finishes.

Looks close but not quite the Morellis finish.

Also the Moire finish is close.

Some info cut and pasted below from thread:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...=141847&page=2

The 1811 was a "moiré " patterned version of a non-quick Day Date.
Not the Morellis finish - just a rough sort of randon finishon the lugs,
bezel, and center links- The Morellis had tiny lines in it- the "moiré "
finish was more just engraved random swirled dots.

18118 is the same watch in single quickset. When Rolex changed to
the 5 digit serial on the Day Date, they used the old four digit numbers
and just added the "8" on the end to signify 18k Gold- so, the regular
1803 became the 18038, diamond bezel 1804 became the 18048,
the Bark 1807 became the 18078, and so on.

Here is a "moiré " patterned 1811 that Christian shoved on VRF a few years ago....

I have seen an 18118 in person on 47th street, the number is correct.
The watch was made in the late 1970's to the early 1980's.
