Tough one: 1675 or 16800

I have found one of each here locally; this is a tough one

The sub as almost deep mustard like patina and the 1675 has that rivet bracelet I love so much

The 1675 is about a grand more......

What year is the GMT? The 16800 is it the matte dialed version? If not you are better off buying a 16610.$1000 more for the GMT are they the same in quality?

x2 Nikos, I spent last year trying to get to where I wanted to be - a matte dial Sub and 1675. My year went like this......

Both the Matte Sub and 1675 will come with no regrets!!!!!!

Hard to opine without pics...regardless I wouldn't buy one based on the bracelet as they are not hard to find.

Try them both on, and pick the one that speaks to you!

Assuming condition is there the 1675 would be the clear winner for me.

I think down the road valuation favors the plastic choice.

1675 hands down. Here's mine. This picture might help you pull the trigger on that 1675.

The GMT's serial number starts with 1461xxx and yes the 16800 is the matt early version with amazing patina...the sub is exceptionally clean, just the slightest bit of stretch in the bracelet. The GMT is more worn, but still clean. What is the proper bracelet for the 1675 ? I see some on folded link bracelets and this one is on a rivet bracelet ??........

The GMT is not correct. It is a gilt dial serial number range and has a service dial, hands, insert and what else we cant see? Too much money to make correct IMHO

I have a 1675 which I really like but my biggest mistake ever was selling my minty 16800 That was an awesome watch

go with the 16800.

I just noticed my 1675 has a silver date wheel which is correct. What colour is the date wheel on the 1675 you are looking at?

The rivet era bracelet is correct for the watch, but the question might be if it's an aftermarket or not--I can't tell. As stated that serail number would be the gilt dial era with small 24 hr. hand.

It's a nice watch, but price would be a consideration given the replacement parts.

Upon closer inspection, bracelet is aftermarket as well, plus stretched badly, very badly. As many people have commented the bezel insert, dial and hands have all be replaced via a long ago service. The watch is in very clean condition, just too much going on with it to pursue at $4,500

I'll get some of the 16800 sub pictures up tomorrow after I go check it out again and shoot pics this time The bracelet on the sub is perfect, really nice. The watch maker told me that the previous owner wore it for years on a leather strap so the bracelet was spared years of wear

Thanks for all the feedback guys
