Well I Gave The New Subdate to my 20 year Employee Yesterday at Lunch

I invited his wife to lunch with the rest of the staff and gave him a plaque first then the box. He looked all excited and almost nervous when he saw the green box then when he opened it him and his wife jaws just dropped. Inotherwords he really liked it and I am glad he did.

This morning he came in wearing his normal watch and I said how come you ain't wearing the rolex and he says all man I am going to keep it for special occasions. I go dude the sub is a workhorse you can wear it everyday. So now he is wearing it.

Man, it is better to give than receive. Anyway I asked him would he had rather had a trip to playa del carmen and he said naw I like the watch. So I might the right decision.

Hmmm. I might have been tempted to take the trip to Playa, then purchase a Sub from the AD on La Quinta Avenue!

Seriously though, that was a great gift and a classy thing for you to do.

You've got a very good reward system in your company.

I hope I can follow yours someday.

Great story!! When I was in the car business years ago I worked for a dealer group that owned 20 dealerships. We gave the salesperson of the year of the whole dealer group a TT Datejust. Half of them would sell the damn thing!! I mean, its not like they needed the cash, to be the top producer for this company meant you were making $200K plus! Anyway, I hope your employee keeps the watch!!

20 years is a life for that man! He gave you his entire working time that he can never take back and give to someone else! I am glad you see that for what it is and a Rolex is the perfect crown for his achievement!

What a GREAT gesture to give him your Sub!

Good thing you made him realize that it was meant to be WORN!

Yes agreed!! The Sub is a workhorse and was meant to be worn! It will probably take abuse and wear much better than his other everyday watch too.

Or should I say, his FORMER everyday watch!
