A couple of 214270 Explorer photos

Hi all,

Having recently acquired an Explorer, and as requested, I now have slightly better photos to show off this piece.

The first one is to highlight the gorgeous clasp detail, and the second one tries to capture the lume, but I'm afraid I ain't no pro photographer!

Can anyone confirm if the colour of the lume was changed on the 214270 from a greeny colour to blue?

I can confirm my exp 39mm is greeny, not blue like in the OP picture.

So there was not a transition year when they were first introduced in 2010 or there abouts? I have seen lots of pictures, and it would appear the newer model post 2012 are in fact more blue, prior to that more green.

Hi all and Happy New Year. First post. 21470 was my first and current with another on the way. Interesting observation...mine is most definitely on the green side and was purchased in 2010. Though now I need to compare it to my Ball which is much brighter and green so relatively, maybe the 21470 is bluish?

I have noticed that if the lume in shining in daylight it appears more blue, if in a dark room the lume appears more green. My watch is also from 2010, and I think that Rolex may have had a transition for a greeny/blue to a blue at some point around 2011/2012.

I compared by Exp to my Ball Fireman, which has a brilliant green lume. Next to the Ball, the Exp definitely looks blue!
