Tudor Sub and Rolex Sub comparison:
I just wanted to share a few photos/thoughts on the 1966 year Tudor Sub 7928, and compare it to my other weekend watch: Rolex Sub 16800. The Tudor is exactly what I expected, a very nice looking older model Submariner with faded hour markers under acrylic crystal. It's my first high quality vintage watch- I haven't taken it off since I picked it up yesterday.
Tudor Sub: -1966 year built- 390 movement -no date model -flatter caseback, so it sits flatter on my wrist -case and crown look and feel very similar to the Rolex Sub -yellowed hour markers/dots provide the vintage look -acrylic crystal raised Rolex Sub: -1984 year built- 3035 movement -date model -raised caseback, sits slightly higher on the wrist -cyclops makes a statement. -sapphire crystal flat

Great pics. If you ever want to dump the Sub I'd be interested. My birthday year. Christie's had a 1984 Comex going to auction but way out of what I'd pay for a watch.

Sub 16800
I will keep you in mind if I ever decide to sell, though I don't have any plans to sell at this time... Send me a PM so I have a reminder of this conversation if my plans do change...
thanks, Al

Thanks. Honestly I know little about vintage watches but the idea of a birth year Sub or SD seems like a great way to start. I have no plans to buy anytime soon but if the right watch came along I could change those plans. Again beautiful watches!!!!
