Rolex Oyster

I just bought a 6480 Rolex Oyster shock resisting ser# 3390xx. Im not sure of the year. The seller told me 1945. Only question i have is the watch says 6480 and ser# is marked on the other end but its doesnt start with Registered Design? Maybe they didnt all start with Reg Des i dont know. Its a manual. Nice blue sec hand too. Here are some pics. Its keeps good time. Its a little too vintage for me im thinking of selling it. This is very clean and dial and fits a large wrist too. If anyone is interested PM me im in WV

It's from around 1957 by the SN. If you have a snapshot of the inner case back, there should be the quarter and year stamped. Oh, and you need a 19mm strap.

Here is my 6480...

Indeed 1945. Nice watch. I'm a bit of a sucker for those blued hands!

It clearly says '58 inside the case back (actually it says I 1958, but only the 58 is clear; must have been a defective stamp that quarter, as mine is also affected). They didn't stamp the inner case backs in 1945. Anyway, the style is all wrong for 1940s, and this case. ref. # is from the late '50s.

I think he's selling it. It's being listed on TZ at the moment. Nice price, too.
