Sub may be the most iconic, but Datejust for the win?

I've gone back and forth, back and forth. Whenever I see a Submariner on someone else's wrist, I am mesmerized by its beauty and bling.

But I just can't get myself to hold onto one. And the buying and selling can get expensive.

There's something about the simplicity of the DJ. I think it's the smooth, shiny bezel (when applicable) that sings to me. While I wish it was bigger (40 mm) just not as crazy about the DJ II, where I think the proportions are funny (huge dial markers). I had a movado years ago that I loved, and I know it was for the simplicity. I also kind of like Panerai.

Curious if anyone can relate?

Girls watch? Man I'm sick of hearing that. Not everyone likes big watches.

Profundity is not some people's strong suit.

I like my Explorer 114270 and my DJ 116200-63600, too.

+1

Wait, maybe we forgot to read the official style book for what we're not supposed to wear.

Picturing a Jersey Shore-ish guy who thinks a blinged out Breitling is the greatest thing ever.

Tried a couple of datejusts over the years

and never kept them. Some fine looking pieces but never properly suited my lifestyle. I have had 4 different Subs and now have the Sea Dweller. Not all watches appeal to everyone so um...wear what you like, boy or girl.

It's about the watch and what makes you happy to wear it. Never, ever, have I heard of a man hearing the line "I wish it were 5 millimeters bigger".

A Rolex Datejust a "girls watch"? Man, it's been a while since I've read anything that preposterous.

DJ are awesome, 36mm is perfect for a dress watch IMO

Plus, SS or TT is super easy to wear and looks great on a jubilee

I will say, I like the ceramic sub more than the classic.

I think the shininess likens it more to a DJ for me.
