Daytona vs Deepsea

Hi: would appreciate your help on this..my collection presently is: GMT 11C, Milgauss GV and Submariner LV.

I was at my AD looking at the SS Daytona and the Deepsea....getting great discounts on both so price is not the issue...I wear all my watches in rotation and would appreciate your input on which one to buy....one consideration being collectabilty and future resale pricing.
Thanks
Bernie

You have a Sub & a GMT, I say get a Daytona... Neither DSSD or Daytona will be collectable anytime soon. Both will hold their value similarly with an edge going to the Daytona... I personally don't like a watch that is any thicker than absolutely necessary...

Go for the Daytona. It will compliment your collection better than the Deep Sea, as you already have the Sub

I would doubt if any modern day Rolex would be collectible just too many around. But all Rolex watches over the past 50 years have held there prices well in the market place. If you like the Daytona buy the Daytona if you prefer the Deepsea buy the Deepsea its that simple. Life's to short to worry future resale prices and watches should be bought to be worn.Perhaps in 40 odd the years the Daytona might offer a better resale over the Deepsea,or it could be visa versa buy the watch you want.

Spot on. I don't think any current model can be categorized as collectible.

Based on what you own, I say the Daytona is a nice addition.

As far as resale goes, pre owned DSSD's are hanging round for ages with over £2000 off MRRP here in the UK.

Daytonas on the other hand go pretty quick at not too much off retail.

Most scuba divers today would not go deeper than around 40m-60m.

You have the exact same three as myself, I got the Milgauss GV and Sub LV (Hulk) first, then the GMT-C, and was wondering what to get for my next watch. I decided to get the white dial Daytona. I wear the Milgauss when I want a unrecognizable watch (doesn't look like a typical Rolex at all), the Sub LV when I want a splash of green, the GMT when I want a splash of black, and the Daytona for when I want a splash of white!

I agree with the size thing, I wish they'd make an XL Daytona. It would sell like crazy.
