Icon5 Vintage AP's

So what do the long time AP collectors do with their older AP's? Are they like Rolex, where you're doing yourself a disservice (in terms of value) by replacing a dial or hands? Or is it reasonable practice to replace the old parts to have a 'like new' looking watch? Just curious...

If the dial color or lume hasn't start to crack or got discolored it won't be a "have to" be exchanged.
Value.. i honestly don't think it will hurt the value if you had the hands or dial refurbished.

If I'm not mistaken, you can keep your old parts with AP?

Sweet and sweet! I didn't realize you could keep your old parts. That's a HUGE plus in my book. Man, maybe I should grab another one then.....

Not if you have it factory serviced, On AP Service Center you might be able to keep your old parts.

I understand you can request to keep your old parts. AP's attitude is that you've already paid for them so are entitled to keep them and will happily return them to maintain the history of the watch.

You can keep a dial even when serviced at APSC.

I personally like to have my APs as vintage looking as possible.

Would be nice, wouldn't it Bryan? I was always under the impression taking someone else's property without permission is theft...
