Any love for Girard Perregaux here?

Just curious, since I dig my super thick crazy deep Sea Hawk!

Cheers,

I must say I don't own one but they do look very nice!

Like the sea hawk! A little blocky for me but nice anyway.

GP makes some nice watches, especially the ultra high end ones like the 3 bridge tourby. I've read here that GPs tend to have poor resale value.

Very old company, well respected by WIS and yes, have horrible resale value if purchased new at retail. They make some stellar complication models!

Nice diver!

I think a GP's resale is typical for almost any high grade watch, except Rolex and PP. But, it just means you can pick up a great watch for a song on the pre-owned market.

For a boutique brand, GP is tough to beat. One thing I like about GP when compared some other nice brands is that they have been making some sport models in lots of versions for some time, now.

Agree and agree.

There are some great buys on preowned which is the only way to purchase them without getting hammered on resale if you needed to part with it.

Great reputation. I'm hoping with Mike Margolis (WIS) at the helm in the US, he'll help repair some of their problems.

Vintage GP absolutely, very nice watches. Their modern stuff is mostly pretty gaudy IMO, with some exceptions, for example:

I also used to own a Sea Hawk, but I traded it in towards an AP ROO. I still miss the amazing lume!

I like my ww.tc even though it doesn't get a whole lot of wrist time.

I love my GP. It happily rubs shoulders with my other watches.

I like some of their models, especially from the 1966 retro line. They have supplied movements to other companies, such as Vacheron Constantin so I think they are solid.

they are a highly well reputed company. I really like the 1945 and 1966 lines, and ofcourse this really nice SeaHawks of the OPand Ducatidoc

the high end three bridge tourbys and the exceptional chiming watches of the brand are part of legends and folklore :)
