Anyone else worried about the direction Rolex is going...
...what with the sky dweller and the frankly disgusting ym2 and rainbow Daytona? Really seem to be losing it to me. Gone from classic timeless design, to tacky poor taste styles

Not me..
Although I don't like some of the modes / new releases I still LOVE what Rolex has to offer.
I think if looking through the entire line that there is a watch for all tastes. Just my opinion. Never thought I would like the wider lugs and ceramic bezels but now I absolutely love it over the classic profesional models. |

As long as Rolex still offers the classics like the DJ, DD, Sub and GMT I will be happy.

There are many flavors of people in the world. people with huge money(rap stars for one who like Bling) to me with not so much money who like classic. why cover one with-out the other.

If Rolex started to make digital watches, I'd be worried.

While, I do not love the new Sky-Dweller, Rolex is still on the top of the list IMHO.

Why worry about Rolex? Are they not making enough money? I do have other important things to worry about.

I love the sport series, the dj's, the dd's and really most of the line up. Love the direction of the most newer models. No worries.

I'm sure they know what they're doing. There is always an audience for every model that Rolex sells, even the YM's & rainbow Daytona's.

Most watch makers have diamond encrusted models in their lineup. There's a market for such watches as well. IMHO with the Sky-Dweller Rolex did their best, and I'm sure they will succeed. And there's the new all-steel DJ II, the new YM, and the new Sub-C ND to balance out the rainbow Daytona and the diamond encrusted DD/DDII variants. I think Rolex offer something for everyone, their lineup is quite diverse and balanced now.

Things I worry about:
• The sun going super nova • World hunger • My receding hairline Rolex doesn't make the list.

Yes new direction is not great I agree. I've tried on most of the new watches (larger cases, etc) & rather than enticing me to buy the new models, they've made me want to keep my old ones more.

The sky dweller will be a great addition for Rolex and I wouldn't take the other fringe releases of existing models as their future direction, but rather a fashion statement for 2012... these types of models are always being released by brands but are rarely seen in the wild
