Bubbleback Advice

Hello all,

Could anyone offer any input on this piece i've found?

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...913440940.html

My concerns are of the case itself - seller mentions 'gold filled case'

And another is the bubbleback itself doesnt match the case.

I am not educated on these styles, so any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I would pass... I'm not too familiar with the case but the dial is redone and the hands look to be relumed, so just from that I would pass.

Unless you`re a vintage Rolex expert stay away from it,,,,,,not mention that the price seems pretty high as in way too high.

We are talking about the wrong thing here - you won't get enough knowledge to make an informed purchase in time to pull the trigger on a purchase.

I don't suggest a Craigslist buy for your first vintage deal. But if you are determined, then find a trusted watchmaker in Vancouver and meet the seller there for a quick look/see by you and authentication by the watchmaker.

Shouldn't say Tudor on the dial?

The watch looks all correct to me, but the dial looks like it's been re-lumed.
Gold filled with steel back is consistent with this period bubblebacks.

Not sure about the Tudor on the dial comment???
I don't see Tudor - and shouldn't since its a Rolex Ref. 5015.

Some bubbleback dials:
