Gmt 1675..
Hi guys,
I had a look at this GMT from 1960 (see photo) and was wondering what you guys think what it would be worth?! According to the seller its an early 1960s model, cal. 1560 steel/gold. The serial is 505xxx. I think of purchasing it but I am not too sure about the price as it comes without the bracelet or any papers/boxes. What are your views? What do you think would be a reasonable price to pay? Thanks guys! |

Don't believe the Root Beer was around in 1960. More like the mid 60s.

The 2 tone GMT came out in late 1969 early 1970. The watch you show was converted to 2 tone.

Based on the serial number, the watch is late 1970's so I would guess it is an original two-tone GMT. As Greekbum noted though, they weren't around in the early 1960's.

the hands dont look right. if the model number agrees to a rootbeer GMT then i would buy it. complete with a band these bring $3500 -4k in good shape. a bandless project watch should start at the $2300-2700 mark. my estimate

The model number would be the same as a stainless GMT - 1675.

Watch shows PCG ? So this and the serial he listed is a very early 1675. I would need to see more detailed pics of the case, case back, and movement. The watch in its original configuration (1960 gilt dial GMT) is in good to excellent condition a 10k and up watch. The watch you show has been converted to a 2 tone. Somebody with the right parts to bring it back to original (gilt dial etc) condition might pay 4-6k for it if all the things I mentioned above are ok.

So...
A Franken-Watch. Run away unless it's $600 and comes with a microwave.
