Icon4 Beware ebay user lord of roo a.k.a Steve Pallett / Stephen Pallet

Beware of this ebay character doing a partial refund scam.

His ebay ID is lord_of_roo
http://myworld.ebay.com.au/lord_of_roo

It proves positive ebay feedback does not mean anything. Anyone can accumulate positive feedback for small items and use that as a cover and bait for big value item.

Just another warning for this scammer. Another TRF member fell for his tricks recently but wasn't as fortunate as me as he got his watch damaged upon return.

It seems this scammer uses the same tactic to try to either scam you out of a watch or to scam you out of a huge partial refund hoping to get a Rolex on the cheap. Serial scammer it seems.

Buyer receives watch, strips it of authentic piece or pieces, tells seller his watch is fake and offers a partial refund settlement. Seller doesn't agree, buyer returns watch in questionable condition.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works. There's another case currently being fought by someone else on this forum, I believe.

Anybody?

Another example of why I steer clear of eBay.

I think this scammer in question is mainly scamming for a cheap buy with partial refund or for the whole watch but not swapping parts. If shoved, ships it back to the seller but not before damaging (scratches/dings./breaks it etc.) the watch in some cases or not return at all and doing a full watch scam.

Is that what happened to you? It'd be really helpful to read some details about exactly what happened - ie, you offered something for sale, lord of the roo promised x, then you did y....etc.

I have been unfortunate to have experienced business with this jerk. This guy is a real piece of work. I dont want to say too much at the moment because I have an executive escalation claim in progress at Paypal and pending ombudsman intervention, however this low life bought an as new M series 16570 full set from me then decided he didnt want it so started to make extravagent claims that it wasnt as described and had 'bits' missing.

He then sent the watch back to me without the tags and chronometer certificate and had maliciously damaged the watch by scraping the bracelet in a number of places. Paypal gave him a full refund. Unbelieveable. Cant say too much on the forum as this case is far from over. Warn all your TRF mates about this dog.

An update in case anyone has similar encounter. This piece of work has de-registered from ebay with the possibility of operating under a new ebay account but his electronic trail is all over the net especially if you do a google search of his name and his place of employment (university in Australia ).
