You would think Rolex USA would be in there checking serial numbers and getting all over the AD that are supplying these....

Very nice piece they have for sale there. I know there have been previous threads about Costco selling Rolex (among other brands it does not have authorization to do so). However, I caught a show on Costco a week or two ago & they interviewed the CEO & asked him about this. They said asked him if he thought there was anything wrong with selling these brands, & his response was that he thinks there is something wrong with companies trying to keep the price of their products artificially high. Right or wrong, he has a point, though his is obviously biased based on the business model he runs versus the model of a high brand such as Rolex. Just something I thought I'd throw out there.

X2 On that one Costco or another retail outlet is just a place to buy any commodity they sell much like going to a AD to buy a Rolex. But buying Grey is normally cheaper but you don't get the Rolex warranty. But in general the warranty is very seldom needed and expect Costco has there own warranty. But after any warranty with any Grey seller, Rolex will be quite happy to take your money for service they will not care or need to know where it was bought.

Yeah, not the buying experience I'd want when dropping $37K on watch.

So what buying experience would you want when dropping $37K on a watch?

That's a smash and grab if I ever saw one....at least if it was in the costco by me....the watches are right up front.

A "switch & grab" would be easier. A $200 replica Platty D-D up a coat sleeve and once the sales rep hands over the real one, switcheroo.

That's what I was thinking. It probably won't be long before we hear about it in the news, except of course if the lady checking the receipts at the exit door is a trained assassin!
