Great Experience @ RSC Beverly Hills
Yesterday, I brought my Sub to RSC, Beverly Hills for warranty work. It was gaining > 12secs/day. The lady at the front desk asked for my warranty card and bill of sale. Apparently, Rolexes bought outside the US need to have a bill of sale before warranty work can be done. I got mine in Singapore about a year in a half ago. Luckily, I kept the O.R. & brought it with me.....just in case. Few minutes later, she was back from the inside office and tells me my watch was magnetized. I didn't notice any other signs except that it was consistently fast. Now it's regulated @ +003. The GMT (Pepsi) I was wearing gains > 14secs/day. I asked that the watchmaker check it if it needs service. After about 15mins, the lady came back and said that service wasn't necessary @ this time but it's now regulated @ +002. I was pleasantly surprised that my D serial GMTII- originally purchased in 2005 doesn’t need service already. I wasn’t charged for the assessment & regulation on both watches.
And oh yeah, I will not be 12 secs early for work anymore.

Nice to hear but "Bill of sale" is required is just ridiculous, what if I received the watch as a gift, am I supposed to ask for the Bill of sale from the gift giver ????

A little good will goes a long way. That is where I'll be going for the next service.

Glad to hear! Out of curiousity what do you do if you do not have your bill of sale? I have my warranty card somewhere, but if something were to happen tomorrow to my watch (god forbid) I would be scrambling. It is registered in my name and was bought new at an AD in Athens, Greece.

Warranty card stamped with a North American AD will be fine. I've actually heard the complaints about warranty work for watches purchased in other parts of the world. Still after two years it's garbage and only needed for warranty work.

How did they determine it was magnetized?
My watch is a D series and runs fast like yours. |

Thanks, bro. I was curious about that too. Aside from the watch being consistently fast, >12sec/day, I didn't notice any other dysfunctions.

Nice!! I called there one time to see if they'd be able to regulate and change a crystal out while there on a business trip. They were very friendly and offered to have everything done for me if I got there early in the day. I will be going through them for service to give them a sjot(providing they stay open this time).

Good stuff! I'm glad to hear it all worked out. The RSC in Seoul, Korea is top notch as well. They do great on the spot regulations and replace crystals within two hours time. However, I went in to take my Tudor Chronograph to replace the crystal and the lady at the front desk said that my watch needed a full service because of the "rotor noise." I told her the movement inside is notorious for making noises like that. She looked at me funny and told me she would ask the technician. Then, I told her a I'm a watch fanatic and I know my stuff.
Minutes later, she came back and told me that the crystal will be replaced. You just gotta let some front desk people that you are not an ordinary watch owner and they will take a different approach in handling your watch. I'm sorry, I rambled on... :) |

Cool, sounds like great service.
Pretty nice of them to assess the GMT and regulate that for free as well. 7 years and still no need for a service, pretty good.

Had a good experience with them many years ago (2004) before they closed and reopened. Have not been back there since then. Glad to hear that they are open again and that the service is good!
