Should you avoid wearing DD everyday
Because all of the band is 18k should one avoid wearing it daily?

why does it matter if 18k? Worried about stretch or softness of metal? Its a watch. Wear it. Enjoy it. I would defintely wear it everyday. Love the day and date feature

Can't see what the issue would be... I would say that most Day Dates around the world are worn daily...

I use my DD as a watch for special events, because I have a lot of watches to wear for more casual events. Wearing any watch everyday increases the chances of damaging it. It depends on what you bought the watch for, how you feel comfortable using it, how potentially damaging your daily activities could be to the watch, and whether or not you can afford the repairs if necessary, i.e. it is all subjective. |

I hope to own a DDII someday, and if I do, I'll wear it everyday.

Perfect solution to the Rolex "daily-wearer" dilemma:
Buy more than one Rolex and rotate through them frequently.

I'm an everyday user here of my DD (sounds like a drug... it is).
no problems with band or anything. only micro scratches giving it a nice patina. truly a watch that fits everywhere. |

I don't wear mine everyday . .
I rotate between my watches But if you afraid to wear it and damage it . . that the bracelet 'stretches' . . . the only solution is that you buy something cheap . . . so that you can have a good night rest ;-) Search this forum and see how many TRF'ers own a WG, YG or Everose golden watch . . Day Date, Sub, GMT, Daytona, etc . . . Never (until today) read that one fell apart due to 'over wearing' . . . Probably I will . . . long before my Rolex ;-) And what's broken . . . can be fixed ! FYI the President bracelet is a lot more comfortable to wear than the Oyster . . . and I am a Oyster guy . . . love to wear & eat them ;-) HAGOne |

Hi,
I'd say: if you want to wear it every day, then wear it every day. If it's a piece you enjoy wearing, and are comfortable wearing, then you should wear it and get the most out of it. Now, that's not to say that it won't get scratched, or dinged - it most certainly will. But that's just inevitable, and all the moreso with gold. My Day-Date came back from service a little over a month ago, and already has a few very visible scratches on the polished centre links of the bracelet, and a fine patina of tiny little hairline scratches building up all over. And that's with me doing nothing more than just wearing it around the house and in the office every day, and doing nothing physically strenuous or out-of-the-ordinary at all. However, it has been on my wrist 24x7 throughout that entire time. I think there comes a point when you just find yourself accepting that scratches are just a fact of life with a gold watch. They will happen. The only way to ensure they don't happen, is to never wear the watch. And if that's what you're going to resort to, then why buy it in the first place ? So I would just wear it, enjoy it, and accept that it will get scratched. And also remember that when it comes time to have it serviced, it will come back looking almost as good as the day it was first made. All but the most serious and deep of scratches or dings can be entirely eliminated during servicing, and the watch you get back will look factory-fresh. So you can scratch it all over again :-) |

I don't own an all gold Rolex, but if I did, the OCD in me would trouble me too much to wear it everyday!

No. Don't avoid wearing it every day unless you own a better watch that begs for wrist time.
