Insider (AD) Cost?

Hey Guys,

Any idea what kind of a discount you get on a rolex if you work at an AD?

My friend just applied, and the question has been tickling my mind...

It'd be around 50% off, but only for one Rolex in your lifetime, and only for gents model if you're a gent :)

I don't know about you but I'd a little bitter in knowing a wealthy sports celebrity was gifted a SkyDweller when he'd rather wear his DSSD. I wonder if Rolex gifts a watch as part of retirement from the company?

It's possible they gift after X number of years for service. An old company I worked part-time for while in grad school gave Rolex's (or Rollie's?) to those who worked there after X number of years. I can't recall the time requirement, I think it was 15 years, may have been 20 years. (Sounds similar to a prison sentence!)

I know when a friend of mine who works at an AD bought his GMTIIc, Rolex sent it to him with his initials engraved on the back. I don't know if that's standard for employee purchases or not.

I know for a fact that down here in florida AD's have a mark up between 36-38% on every watch. yrs ago 50% was pretty normal but those days are long gone.

Can anyone share what type of discount they have received from their AD on a new Rolex? I am from NYC and torneau is offering 10-20% as a credit on another watch purchase - so technically full price on the Rolex.

I want a day date 2 yellow gold and am looking around for the best deal.

This is my 1st post to the site - thanks everyone.
