How long before the Daytona beefs up to 42mm?
The Sub, GMT, Exp I, Exp II, and DJ are all rockin' bigger cases nowadays (not to mention the monstrous DSSD). Will the Rolex corporate gurus ever dare to alter the design on the Daytona, or is the 40mm case here to stay?

Dont hold you breath would doubt it, and does 2mm make all that difference, and even the DSSD would not call monstrous or real heavy. There are many dive watches bigger and heavier than the DSSD,but being bigger of heavier don't make watches any better.Far from it the bigger they are easier to ding the heavier the harder they fall with more damage. With watches like the DSSD main difference is a pressure rating, that man or superman will never use, but in the real world no tougher than most of the other Rolex line up.

Time will tell.
Doubtful anytime soon though being that they just introduced the ceramic bezel gold Daytonas with same size case.

I personally would love to see it.
Chances are slim to none (at least in the near term). |

42 mm? are you kidding me... come on?!
My girlfriends father have get in touch whith a man, who is a part of the team, in the stab who design an desiceds how, the future rolexes will look like. and let me tell you - it blow my mind! They will reform the design of the daytona and the deepsea... and many new models. The daytona will become, at least above 45 mm. and the deepsea will become around 50mm or above. The daytona will whey above 200 grams, whith the SS, gold-case. and whith the platina-case above 250 grams. The deepsea will be above 250 whith SS-Gold-case and whith the platina-case abouve, or around 300 grams. Have a nice day, every Rolex-fanatics around the planet! |

Personally, a date would be a far more useful Daytona upgrade. . . Hopefully Basel 2013. . .

I think they will upgrade the Daytona next year, that could be the reason that the Daytona did not get a significant price increase this time, there would get a significant increase in price after the upgrade.

surely the most probable outcome is a TT and SS ceramic version, cant see a date as that wouldnt sit with the recent gold ceramics.

I think it is the best looking watch out there, and would not change a thing.

I'd love to see a larger Daytona as an option. Why not have more options?
