With or without diamond
hi, i am thinking to buy a Rolex day just I 116233 for my dad, but I can not decide having diamond or not. He is 60. It is 2000$ more for having diamond. What do you think?
Thanks |

Well I for one like diamonds but even my opinion won't help. Why don't you start by telling us how your father is? What does he like?
By the way, welcome to TRF!

depends on what he likes. my opinion: without, never ever with. money is not the issue.
a good watch should cost a lot because of its quality and build. not the extras.

All depends what your dad likes, though if my son was buying one for me I would much prefer one without diamonds.

Is your Dad a diamond guy or not?
That is really the important question. None of these folks answering the thread are your Dad.... |

As I said, it depends on how your father is. If he really isn't into jewelry or diamonds it's probably not a good idea but otherwise I think it will make a wonderful gift (I would wear that).

That is a good use of diamonds on a Rolex
I predict he will say, "oh it's beautiful - you spent too much" But he will love it, too!

That's pretty nice, it's subtle and gives it a bit of a sparkle without drawing to much attention to it. Nice choice!

It's a random serial number. Regardless it's a new watch until purchased. Those charts are just a guess. Don't put too much emphasis on it. I think it's a great watch. Not too many diamonds at all. You should get son of the year!!!

I'm sure your dad will love the watch. I think the diamonds on the dial are very discrete.
