Whats the best purchase option?
As some of you guys know I will be purchasing a SD when I get back from work in the next 2 1/2 weeks.
Now my AD can get one for that date in Glasgow UK, and is going to charge £2930.00. I have another option to buy a pre owned watch from watchfinder uk. Its 4 months old and in immaculate condition costing £2310.00. I want to ask you peeps if its worth getting it from the AD for aftersales service etc. or maybe take the bite and get it from watchfinder uk (whom Ive been told are very reputable and give an honest service too) Ive inquired about the Glasgow area and £2930.00 seems what all AD's charge give or take 50 quid. |

That is a nutter price...
Over here in this part of the world, you'd pay around STG2300.00 for a SD. I can get it for less from one of my ADs. If you go without a couple of long weekends in the mountains, you may be able to cobble together a tropical paradise holiday and pick up a couple new Rolexes at the same time at a good discount. |

I would STILL buy from your AD if I were you. That way you are 100 % sure the watch IS perfect. "Mint" condition is relative! Some don't seem to give a scratch or two any attention, and they just CALL it "mint". No pic would catch up those scratches, but when you have bought the watch, you have bought it, and it is YOURS!
So better go for the ABSOLUTE mint SD. Nothing beats the feel of buying BNIB!

Yeah, but Bo... imagine, and I've posted this before... Take a holiday to Malaysia, go Rolex hunting for a few days, purchase the dream machine, then retire to a tropical 6-star resort for a few more days to admire your new watch(es) while being waited hand and foot.
With the relative strength of the STG/Euro and even your Kroner... shouldn't be a problem. Comparatively cheaper than a weekend in Biarritz on a pro-rata per diem basis. |
