I want to make you a question, Is stupid to buy a GMT II (16710) having a Sea Dweller?. At the moment the SD is my only Rolex.

Right now my SD is my only watch, but I'm thinking of adding another. I go back and forth between a GMT IIC and an Explorer II.

If I get a GMT, I'll probably go TT for the contrast with my SD's SS bracelet. If I go Explorer, I'm thinking white dial for the contrast with my SD's black dial.

Either way, I want my second Rolex to be significantly different from my SD just for the sake of variety.

I don't think it's stupid. After all, if offered the chance, I'd buy the exact same watch as I already have. But I do see your point. To the general public, the GMT II SS can look similar to a SD or Sub. Personally, if I had an SD, i'd be on the lookout for a Daytona or Explorer since the look is quite a bit different. Or maybe a TT GMT (if you like TT). Or maybe a black/red or pepsi GMT if you can find one?

The 16710 is a discontinued item. I own a SS Sub Date and EXP II, and now, a Pepsi 16710. It was an easy choice given the former, plus I believe it to be a truly functional and useful timepiece. Not to mention soon to be valuable.

Two wrists, one watch? You are short at least one watch.

You have room for a lot more in your collection.

IMHO, it's not stupid kururunfo, it's a matter of "want and taste." I have both an SD and a GMT II with black & red bezel. A good combination. I enjoy both.

Cheers.

If you like the big and heavy feel of the SD, why not go for the NEW GMT IIc instead of the "old" one??

Here is a nice comparison pic (by Mike):
