Going broke with the RSC
Listened to you guys and in the process of sending all the family's watches over 5 years old in for maintenance (four in total). They still have my GMT Master and I decided to send the wife's least worn, Ladies TT DJ MOP Diamonds, out for service. I took the band off to note the model number and serial number, boy what a mess...1/4 inch of gunk, and gave to the AD in same condtion as they also record the numbers. Got a call from our salesperson who noted in her sly voice...."did you get the watch new for your wife". I said no? I purchased the watch used from an individual a year or two ago. She laughed as the watch is a 1965 model and my wife was born that year. Nice surprise for her. Me wife gave me grief as that was the year I started college. I will send pics when the GMT is back. It's only a watch, but I do miss it. Hard to figure out ZULU time on the fly sometimes.

I hope you get both back looking like new!
RSC is famous for polishing and satinizing Rolex cases just the RIGHT way, making them look almost "factory new". Please post pics of them when they're back!

If you have "before and after" photos that would be great.

You're not only doing something for yourself...
You're doing your watch a tremendous favor too. It will last longer and run moother with this simple maintenance step... |

moother? Some sort of subliminal slip concerning me and cows? Man, I thought JJ had it rough! Without you guys I never would have had my watches serviced and as you know this would have cost me in the long run. Thanks for all the good advice and not always suggesting using the SEARCH button. |

Let us know whether or not you get that...
MOP and diamond dial back with that datejust...I didn't know they made those in 1965...
If it's not original Rolex, a Rolex Service Center will confiscate it. |

Thanks for the information. Watch is gone to the RSC and we shall find out the truth. Should be fun! What I do know about the watch is this: Oyster Perpetual Lady Date Model Number 6519 Serial Number 1842218 Movement 1135a'1165 My wife hates the look of the watch!!! Got the movement number from the AD, and to be honest, I have no idea what it represents. |
