Which ones to SELL
Hey guys, I hope everyone's doing well!
(JJ, do you still have the TT blue sub? LOL) Well, I have been bitten by the Panerai bug so some watches must go. would you keep one or maybe two of the following..and which ones? 1) Z-series LV Sub, minty new 2) D-series No-Date Sub, near mint 3) A-series SD, has some wear 4) non-rolex 42mm Omega Planet Ocean black The no-date was my first nice watch but I don't wear it that much. I tend to wear the SD that I got used most often (probably because I don't fear dinging it). No idea when its' last service was. The LV I have worn on a few special occassions. Love the watch, but it's not a daily wearer for me. The Omega is great bang for the buck, and I'll wear it to places where a Rolex would be maybe too out of place, but I do like the Rolexes more in general. |

If you have to move two, for me it would be the PO and the ND.
I'd rather move just the PO though. |

I think it depends on what you want in the end.
The LV will give you the most cash in hand; probably followed with the "D" 14060 because of it's mint condition and the SD, with the PO last for return on investment. So if you want the most money, I would lose the LV and the Sub.. However, for value retention, and personally, I would echo mike and lose the PO and the Sub. |

I have your solution, take some Benadryl and rub some Eucerine cream on it for the itching. If that doesn't work, well just sell the one you feel like you can part with. Personally, your 14060 would be my favorite, so I would keep it. The LV Sub should fetch you enough cash for the Panerai, but can you part with it?

Thanks guys...
I'm interested in getting a 2nd panerai, or the new GMT II. I didn't love the GMT II when I first saw it, but I've tried it on several times now and it's growing a lot on me...wears a bit bigger on the wrist, and I have around a 7" wrist. May like it better than the SD, not sure yet, will have to A/B them more. Unfortunately, just selling the Omega won't help enough towards the next purchase. Do we know if Rolex will be making the no-date subs with 4-rows of text soon? or if they are going 100% over to the new cases for everything? |

get the GMT II-C
How funny. I'm ditching my PAM24 because I got the new GMT. My first Rolex so this one is very special to me. There's no turning back!
I like Panerai and all, but I love Rolex. Also, never warmed up to them using very standard 7750 movements in most of their pieces. And their forums seem to discuss nothing but straps and nothing technical. Nice bunch of fanatics, but it got very tiring. Don't abandon the mothership! |

Well here's another opportunity to post my new acquisition. I got the bug to! I'd dump 2, 3 and 4.

I'd say just the PO since it can still be purchased at a later date. The no date sub 14060/M is a classic, and if you don't really really need the money, hold on to it.
The SD and LV, keep it.

With only a 7 inch wrist, most Panerais will look too big on your wrist IMHO. I would dump the Panerais, the SD, and the PO and keep both the Subs and then bu a new GMT II.

Been there, done that with Panerai. I got into the brand about 4 years ago. I like the look of the watches, but 44mm is really too big for my 6 3/4" wrists. 40mm is ok. Panerai seems to be a short-term fling for me as I can hold onto to one. I lose interest.
With that being said, if you want to try one out, keep the LV and the No Date Sub and ditch the rest. |

Lol, agreed.
I hope I dont get bitten by the Panerai bug. THey are beautiful watches and many people own them as an alternative to Rolex. I dont think Im willing to pull the trigger on a Panerai though, or at least I have no plans in the near future.

I'd say to the PO and LV, but that is only since I don't like either of them.

I do know that you can have the standard black bezel insert put on the LV if you don't like the green one, but I would never do that alteration since it would then not be original to me anymore.

Instead it would be a custom one of a kind, still using all Rolex Parts!!! No different swapping the Green Bezel insert out for a Black One, as in Swapping out a GMT II pepsi insert for a Black one IMHO.

I'm sure I'll keep one or two. I think I'm now set on letting the Omega and the LV go. While I really, really like the LV, I am not a huge cyclops fan, and that green actually is not great with my skin color...looks better in the case. The omega is nice, but it is just not in the same league aesthtically as a Rolex to me. Now...to keep both the 14060m and SD, or to let one of them go? |
