Replacing bracelet on Day Date

Any suggestions for replacing the presidential bracelet on a Day Date? I know Rolex does not provide a leather bracelet for those Day Dates sold with a metal bracelet. Experience with a particular solution welcomed.

You can a Rolex leather strap on it if you like. The leather straps that go for the YG Daytona would fit the DD, too. Have a talk with your AD if you want to order such a leather strap, but be prepared that it will be expensive!

But why would you wanna replace the classic bracelet that the DD was "born" with?

If it is because it is stretched and worn, I suggest you get it refurbished by:

www.classicwatchparts.com

They do a REALLY nice job when they refurbish bracelets!

Have you ever seen a Rolex leather strap on a Day Date that came with a presidential bracelet? I understand that it is a poor fit with a large gap between the case and strap. Rolex discourage the switch out of bracelets/ straps.

Yes, I have often seen DD's on a leather strap, and you would NOT void the warranty by putting a leather strap on it.

All you need to know is that a leather strap is less durable than a metal bracelet, and that you should not swim with a watch fitted on a leather strap.

MM,

If you like leather give the Hirsch, Leonardo style straps a look.

They are thick and have a curved end that sits up close to the watch case..

The Watch Prince also carries some Hirsch bands and they are a joy to do business with..

A; Same lug width.
B; If you want an ORIGINAL Rolex leather strap, you gotta live with that gap.
C; I did, and I also have a friend who has an original Rolex leather strap on his DD.

Your AD is incorrect, Rolex straps WILL fit perfectly. They also offer 2 clasps: gold plated and full gold

Thank you all very much for your help. I am going to try a Rolex strap. Suggestions on the specific tools needed to switch out the bracelet?
