Newbie here, serial number question.
I got my first new Rolex last evening. I was looking at the hologram sticker and do not see any letters. Where would I find the letter that would indicate the age of the watch? Would it be on the paperwork? If so I will look when I get home. This watch was purchased at an AD.
I got a TT Sub with the blue bezel, gray face with diamonds. I went with the intention of buying the 50th ann. Sub. After comparing them I liked this one much better. I did not realize the stainless Daytona was rare as hens teeth. Any help is appreciated. Kind Regards, Bryan |

Thanks for the help.
I looked it over and really, the sticker on the back is not helpful and slowely wearing away. I will check the numbers when I get home.

Bryan.
The hologram sticker on the back was an early effort to uniquely "tag" a genuine Rolex with a difficult to produce emblem, but it is of no value at all for identifying a Rolex.. Hologram stickers do start life with an ink stamp of the model number (yours would have had 16613), but that rubs off quickly. Your receipt should have the serial number, and you might have had a small green plastic "hang tag" with a bar code and your serial number on it.. The Serial number is what is used to find a date range for your production run and for a TT Sub will start with a letter.. |

Hey Bryan,
I'm assuming you got all the paperwork? Look on the Certificate and you'll see the serial number with a letter prefix. You'll also see a style number that in Rolexspeak will give you the reference number, dial style and bracelet type. |
