Why do I need more than one watch!?

Sorry if this is a bit philosophical but I'm just pondering something before I potentially make another purchase.

A lot of us (at least I'm assuming) buy quality time pieces because a watch is supposed to tell a story rather than tell time. The sentimental value of the watch, which is acquired through continued use and experiences we go through while wearing the watch, is whats really important. Am I right or wrong? I bought a GMT IIc in hopes it would be the last watch I ever buy and it would be something I wear pretty much for the rest of my life until I decide to pass it on...

So....

Why the heck do I keep wanting to buy a speedmaster pro?!?!?!?! This bug is driving me insane... I keep talking myself out of it but get roped in just as fast as I've convinced myself I don't need it. I don't know how I feel about having two daily wearers... Is that even possible? I feel like it wouldn't be the same if I had two watches... Do you guys have a rotation or just wear one?

You don't need another watch just like I dont need another watch, mind you I don't need 3 black belts or 4 pairs of running shoes or 2 Mac books. I dont need the sports car in the garage that see's about 6 hrs of road time a year.

I think I'm going to buy another watch today :)

You NEED the speedy.

After buying and selling a couple I have settled on 2 watches, and am quite content at the moment. I rotate fairly evenly, the DJ is better for work and the speedy for casual.

Have comfort in the fact the speedy is one of the best value watches out there. You can't go wrong.

It's not about what you need, it's about what you want.

It's a sickness indeed... Sometimes I wish I were just a little more simple, like my father who wears one watch for 30+ years no matter what circumstance..

I like many on here have so many in the collection, that we favor a few and the rest sit for occasions or when we feel like it? It's starting to not make sense, from an appreciation point of view first for me secondly financial of course.

I wish I could just appreciate one piece to death and not want any and everything my eyes Lay site on. LOL

Anyone know where I am coming from?

I don't have only one plate in the cupboard...

I don't have only one winter coat.

I know, right!! I wanted one, just one, watch that I can look back on 30 years from now and think to myself, I've worn this watch all my life and it's been with me through everything. I don't think that's going to happen though because I'm about 95% away from pulling the trigger on this speedy pro.

does your wife need another pair of shoes?

and I agree with Joker. Between a DJ (or a GMT) and a Speedy, you are more than covered

Ron Evan's GMT Master went to the moon.

However the iconic Speedmaster is still a great choice.

Ron Evans orbited the moon in the command module of Apollo 17. He did not land with the other two astronauts.

You need a spare while the other is in the shop. 5 years comes fast, so you had better pick it up now.

I love my Sapphire Sandwich and I'll keep it forever. That said, it needs company in the watch box.

If you can afford it, get it! I suggest you wait 90 days and see if you REALLY want it.

However, there is something priceless and beautiful about a fine watch that has been worn by the owner for many years.
