To the best of my knowledge there is no difference.

Of course this is not to confuse the new Yachtmaster II regatta with the "old" Yachtmaster..

These two only share the same name.

Actually, there HAVE been two different movement placements in the YM line. You can tell the difference by the model number...the 'older' YM's have the five digit model code...the 'new' YM's have the '1' + that five digit code.

The newer movement has a slightly higher beat and I think a couple of additional jewels. Both are COSC movements. If you've got to have the latest and greatest, then you'd best be looking for the six digit model code.

I think the 'improvement' took place around 2002.

Happy Sailing! Or Yachting...or maybe just swimming...oh, hell, you can wash your hands while wearing it, too.

i think you are mistaken.....

the 5 digit model number is a 40 mm YM....

the 6 digital model numbers are mid size and ladies YM .....

e.g. 168622 is midsize......169622 is ladies size
