Think again before buying a new Rolex with blank papers

Approximately 7 weeks ago an assortment of 200 brand new boxed Rolexes including all papers and blank warranty cards got stolen from the Rolex distributers depot in the Netherlands. Upon discovery the watches were reported stolen right away to Rolex SA and the local authorities. Unfortunately they have not been retrieved. Chances are they will end up on the black market all around the globe.

My source is from the Dutch Rolex forum that almost shares the same name as this one.

So, if you happen to come across a deal that seems to good to be true walk away.

You have been warned!

Personally I won't be buying any Rolex unless it's at my local AD. Especially considering the confiscated Rolex thread that has been recently circulating.

All warranty cards were marked with the Netherlands Country codes, right?

Huge haul. Hasn't reached our news sources yet.

Yes. WIS will know what to keep an eye out for; but the first time buyer won't.

It has not been made public in the Netherlands either. This information comes from an inside source with ties to the forum.

Can we alert everyone as to the country code to watch out for?

I`m sure warranty cards are easy enough to counterfeit so I wouldn`t count on finding Dutch country code numbers, however I would be certain to know the seller before considering any Rolex purchase.

Chances are those watches will all find their way to Asia or Russia rather than N. America.
