Explorer II's (16570 and 216570)
My first post on TRF! Hello guys!
Finally had time to take out my 105mm VR lens and took a few snapshots of my Exp II's. I just need to find a 1655 from the year 1975 (my birth year) to finish the collection :) I know folks on TRF like white dial over black dial but I just like the contrast on the orange hand on black dial more. Taking a macro shot on the laser etched crown on my 16570: A 4-seconds exposure: Hope you guys liked it! p.s. edit to change photo size to 800 to comply with the rules here :) |

Nice pics.
For me, I like the new Exp in size only but prefer the old version in all other details. Thnx for sharing. Khalid

Nice pics, especially that last one, extreme shallow depth of field. I love macro lenses!

Is a 16570 black dial good company to PAM111 & JLC Reverso Grande Date?
Hi Folks
A newbie here. Looking around for my first Rolex and need some advice. I currently own a PAM111 which I wear with casual clothes and a JLC Reverso Grande Date for more formal occasions. I am missing a true sport watch here that I can wear at the beach or doing sports (I love my Panerai but cannot stand it with the rubber strap). I also do winter sports and hate to to go out to the slopes without a proper watch. Given that I also travel quite a bit for work I thought that the Explorer II is a good fit (sports, GMT function). I am currently having my sights on the 16570 black dial. I tried the new 42mm but it looks big in my wrist (dont ask me why my 44mm Panerai feels ok :-) ). Any thoughts from the experts? Thanks a lot! PS: heres a pic of my current collection in need of Rolex brother |
