1940s Rolex?? Info anyone???
Hello all, I have this old Rolex (#338078) here that belong to my late grandfather, and was passed down to me after sitting in a bottom drawer for 20 years. (not currently working)
We have No idea how or when he got it. We "think" it may have come back with him after he served in the RCAF (attached with the RAF) in England from 1941-1946 as a tail gunner in a Lancaster bomber. Any information would be GREATLY apprecieted!! Thanks!!! |

Well, you're not off to a good start.....
The Sub is a fake, so this whole thread is now moved to the 'watchout' section!! As for the vintage, I'm skeptical!!

I am speechless......that Sub is hands down one of the worst ones I've seen on here. Now it begs the question, does the person not know and assume it's real? Or is it a scam artist trying to solicit responses from the knowledge base here to make a better fake?

A U.S. or Canadian quarter or other familiar coin would have served for size comparison; instead you chose a fake watch in a forum resolved do all it can to help stamp out such things, which pretty much makes you an idiot for expecting any help here.
NEXT: You call the police useless after you take a stash of weed to them asking simply that they separate out the oregano for you. |

Your original question was valid, your 'comparison' with a fake, was not.... I gave you the benefit of the doubt and allowed your post to see the open boards in the hope of awareness and possible swindle against you. However, seeing as you knew the one was fake, and then proceeded to call the TRF collective of a fine group, who together know more than any AD you could walk in, 'useless', your time here is now done.....

OP forget these other guys. They are just being rude.
I've taken a good look at your grandfathers watch and compared it to some photos of a similar watch I've seen. From what I can tell that watch is also 100% counterfeit. So it looks like you and your grandfather had the same values. |

I do see the trend with new members posting "what is wrong with this watch?" Kind of makes you wonder... |
