Anyway to fix a mark on bezel insert?
How do professional restorers do it?
My problem is a very very tiny chip - just enough where you can see metal. ( Seadweller ) Anyone have any experience with this? |

The bezel insert of the SD (and Sub Dates and old GMT II's) is made of aluminium.
If it gets chipped so that the aluminium shows through, it cannot really be fixed, but a bezel insert for the SD does not cost much and can be exchanged by a fresh one by the RSC at the next service. NICE pic of a "CYCLOP" in your avatar, btw! I found another one:

Or you can do it yourself, if you dare, and can get a spare bezel insert:
See Jocke's excellent tutorial on how to change the bezel insert. CLICK!

Well, certainly it could be fixed the way you describe. The bezel insert is US 51 Dollars. But prices seem to vary?? ↓↓ TRF thread: Cost of bezel insert! CLICK! Best of luck!

No....Any well equpped AD with a watchmaker on staff and a Rolex parts account can do the job. Sometimes they charge a bit more since you would pay local labor rates and mark-up. |

Then do yourself a favor and DO NOT perform a Google Images search on "Cyclop"!
