Red Sub on ebay
I have looked very carefully at this dial, but it doesn't seem to jive with archive pictures of known Red Sub dial variations. Seller claims that it is a Mark IV dial. I say no way. Any body else care to comment?

Yes......
Well spotted Ronnie.....This dial has some issues. The serial no. is good for a red sub and the watch looks to be basically OK BUT the dial looks to be refinished or counterfeit. A mark iv dial should have open/slightly open "6"'s which it supposedly does as the seller claims ....." The watch comes with the original beautiful RED writing Mark 4 "Open Six" dial in excellent condition" The "6"s on this dial are closed. There are other issues, ie the horizontal bar on the "f" and "t" at 660 ft should not be level but should be staggered as on the dial below. Also the "i" in "Swiss - T <25" should be directly over a minute marker, this one is not. Not my picture but from VRF. The seller is either confused or is trying it on, either way the listing is misleading. seller marbellatec |

Dang, now that's a keen eye! I was going to mention the font on the bezel seems off but might have been replaced.

I'm no expert on this but the print quality on the dial looks terrible. One thing great about the Zoom function

That dial is 100% percent wrong all the way from the coronet to the the closed 6's to the serif on the script.
