Who says you can't dress up an AP Chronograph? (Don't laugh)

Got these pics from a friend's wedding, with the 44mm steel, thought you guys might enjoy. These pics might make me look silly but show off the watch well. Typically I would wear my Calvatrava or IWC but decided to spice it up.

Tom Ford + AP = not too bad...

Go ahead and bust my chops LOL

Basically, I'm contending it's ok to wear an AP in formal gear, it just pops a little bit ;)

Photographer caught me at a weird moment after giving a speech.

Being drunk and silly with old grad school alums in those photo booths.

Looks great!!!

I just got back from a buddy's wedding and wore my diver. I was a little apprehsive about wearing a rubber strap watch to a formal event but I figured that if I was ever going to do it an AP would be the best watch.

After seeing your pics I think I was worried about nothing. Looks outstanding

Pics look great.

I'm assuming the shirt cuff didn't go over the watch, correct? Do you think the FC would have looked better?

I'm be in a tux in a few weeks and won't be wearing a watch...may have to try on the ROO for fun lol.

Especially with the presence of the diver case in steel, the rubber strap will probably help lift the presence of the case, if that makes any sense, I'm sure it looked sharp! I have since gotten a black leather strap, but in this kind of attire, I don't think it makes much of a difference.

It was just these pics where my arm was folded or bent, although when I had my last tux shirt made, they did have to make it a touch wider with the french cuffs so the watch could slip under.

I'm going to be wearing the FC next, the funny thing about the FC is I think it will be louder of a statement than the SS, under indoor lighting like black tie events, the shine from the black backdrop of the watch really really pops.

Already tried, apparently it was hard for them to believe I was a british agent. I wonder why...

Agreed, if it's for your wedding day, a watch is a must. Not so much for the look, but to attach sentimental value to one of your favorite watches. Choose wisely though, make sure it's a keeper. I wore my Daytona because I figured it would be the one I would never part with.

Funny enough, was just talking to the photographer about acquiring his services for a event I'm putting on, he mentioned he was a WIS, which explains all the pictures with my watch in plain view.

This is why I love the new 44s, they may not be as exciting as the BB, Trulli, and other models (all of which I love), but they can "suit up" respectably.

Haha - I've only loved sports watches so don't own a thin dress watch...ROO for day before and after for sure, but I keep reading no watch with a tux is probably more "proper".

This gets me thinking though, so I will test it out and see...
