Gold Rolex Day-Date...help?
Hello Everyone,
Below are some pictures of a Gold Presidential Rolex with a Black Dial. A co-worker has it up for sale and I'm looking to buy it. I wanted to share some pictures first to get your opinion on the watch. It looks like it is in great condition. Please any information on the watch would be helpful. What do you guys think is a fair price? Have it opened by an AD to verify it. It could be the best preserved 18038 in the world, or the best replica. Some things make me pause to ponder why...
If genuine, $7500 is a fair offer.

I only wish my 18238 had that little stretch in the bracelet. Looks very clean. I'd have it opened and ask questions about when it was bought, has it been a safe queen, etc. if all checks out I think $7500-$8000 would be a good price.

Looks like its very well maintained. Did your friend have it serviced recently due to how new it looks? Barcelet stretch is minimum to none, can't see any obvious dents/dings to the watch and the center link polish is well still polished. Even the inner clasp looks untouched and new!
How much is he selling it to you for? If its legit with everything intact and in this condition $7.5k to 7.8k would be a very good price I reckon for a 18038. A higher price than that wouldn't be a surprise for one in such excellent condition. |

As kilyung already mentioned, besides the (slightly over) polished bezel the DD is in really great shape !
You can always have the bezel replaced future wise. Love the black dial. Bracelet in really great condition (overhaul is minimum $ 850.00) So if he even asks more than $ 8 K I would go for it. Good luck HAGOne |

IMHO a VERY nice and well maintained peice. No harm in having it checked out by an AD. I'm not sure on DD prices but it's beautiful.

You have a 50/50 chance of the AD scratching up the case. I'd buy the person selling it.
