Thinking of trading Daytona on AP ROO
I've been looking at the ROO, and thinking I would wear it a lot more than my 116509 (I'm deathly afraid of scratching up the gold).
I'm also thinking the 44mm size would be a more casual size and in SS is something that I could wear daily (I work in a tech company - think shorts & t-shirts.) What would you guys do? Any suggestions on specific models? I would really prefer something with a chronograph. Thanks! |

Steve, head over to the AP section... We all love our AP's there!!! You can get a nice Carbon or newer SS/Ceramic ROO for close to the value of your Daytona.

Steeler, haha, yeah, good idea. Forgot there was an AP section. Could a mod move, please?
Manofsteel, thanks for the suggestions... I think I'd be interested in SS. By the way... what would people suggest on doing a trade? Should I sell my watch outright first, try to find someone online willing to do a trade, or go to a local wholesaler and try and do a deal that way? |

Check out the newer 44mm SS ROO model 26400so... Great looking watch if your looking for steel. They're newer 44mm models are mostly Carbon cases instead of SS.
You can try to sell yours on your own, post on TRF sales. Or call a dealer that has the watch you want and see what kind of trade deal they can work you. |

APs are scratch magnets and the first scratch or dent you put on the bezel, you'll be mortified. Keep in mind that once there's a ton of scratches on the bezel the watch doesn't look as good as any scratched Rolex.

Daytona was way too small for me many years ago.
AP ROO is amazing. Check out the 44mm for sure. FC or Rose Gold are amazing. Little different price point to Daytona, but worth it. FC is favorite in the collection (until RG can be had). |

I don't own either but I would go for an AP first myself! Good luck with your decision.

i love rolex. have a few, think they are THE best all-around watches at their prices (for an enthusiast). but on this one, i have to say go for the AP for sure. it will feel a bit off for the first week or so not having the bracelet. but by then you will have realized AP is far superior on every single aspect and you will not regret it.
i will advize however that if you are active with your watch that you steer away from the steel bezels the 42mm has a few with ceramic bezels that are great and durable the rubberclads are also great you will know more once you sit down with the watches and play with them :) |

Thanks for all the advice, guys! You've all been great! I guess my next step is to go try on some APs and see if I can find one I love! I've never seen the carbon in person, but in photos it hasn't had much appeal to me. I guess I should go take a look at one and see how I like it!
PS - here's the 116509 I'm trading. She's a real beaut.. it's gonna be hard to see her go! |

You can see how RG Daytona looks next to some APs, I have both and love both equally. I would say Daytona is more versatile watch but AP is a different level, once you have AP its hard to go back to Rolex

That IS a beaut of a Daytona... If your not wearing it and scared to mess it up, then trade it. No sense having a nice watch like that sit around unused.
As for the SS bezel prob that Hal (Sub) mentioned, since your looking for a 44mm size, I don't think they have with a SS bezel. The newer 44mm cases have either ceramic or carbon bezels. I have the 44mm Forged Carbon like the one Paul posted. Just picked IT up last week. Mikes Bee is a sweet ass carbon, but only 42mm, Kens RB2 is most AP lovers grail and nearly impossible to find... |
