GMT Ceramic Bezel Insert

I have a chance to purchase a new black cermaic bezel insert. Before the purchase however I need to know if the new ceramic bezel insert will fit my S series GMT-Master II.

Thanks,

Corey

Welcome to TRF, Corey!

The ceramic bezel insert will NOT fit the normal GMT II 16710.

Thanks,

Ceramic inserts will not interchange with the older aluminum inserts, as Spacey says.

I'm curious where you would be able to get one. Most folks have trouble even finding the watch, let alone an insert for one.

I understand that the cost is around 300 bucks too, so I would be interested in your source and price...

I would be real wary of anybody selling a GMT Ceramic Bezel insert. RSC will not sell them. So chances are very high what you are being sold is a fake insert.

And as others have stated, a real Ceramic insert will not fit on old style GMT IIs. Compeltey different Bezel design and engineering.

Agree!

BTW: Here is an "exploded" diagram pic of the construction of the new ceramic bezel:

What's the point of you buying a ceramic bezel?

And if it's from a reliable source, he would know and tell you that it would not fit an "older" style GMT.

It's like someone coming to me and saying that they have a GMT clasp for the 16710. WHY?

Something does not sound right.

Ceramic Bezel

To answer your questions Ron:

The person who is selling the ceramic bezel told me that he does not know if would fit a 16710. That is why I asked here. I thought someone may have the expertise that I don't have.

To answer your question about a ceramic bezel. Now I know that it will not fit my 16710. You have to be in my shoes first. I didn't know that the ceramic bezel insert would not fit my 16710. I did not have prior knowledge that it would not fit my 16710. I only had the knowledge that the ceramic bezel insert is superior to the bezel insert on my 16710. Since my black bezel insert was scratched I thought it would be nice to purchase a ceramic bezel insert for my 16710. Upon further information (that I obtained here) I know now that the ceramic bezel insert does not fit my 16710.

Corey
