First Time Buyer - Please Help!!!

I'm a first time buyer and I could use some help. My wife really likes the Oyster Perpetual Date. She tried on her friend's watch and loved the colors. I realize that the attached picture is 1) a datejust and 2) has diamonds all over it. I'm looking for a watch in the same color pattern in this attached picture in the "Date" version and without the diamonds.

1) Can anyone please recommend a place to get a pre-owned watch like this?
2) Any opinion on what a fair price is?
3) Is the face matte grey?

Thanks!!!

I would research the for sale section to get an idea of what they are going for, the price of the sold watches versus the price of the ones that do not sell.

You could also ping some of the regular sellers here. Look for names in the who's who section. They may have a line on a ladies Rolex like this.

The face looks silver to me.

I think your wife has great taste, and if her friend has a diamond dial, you need to get her a diamond dial AND a diamond bezel

This dial appears to be rhodium as opposed to silver, but I might be wrong.

I'd suggest you check with an AD to see what dial options are available on the Date model (34mm) just so you're knowledgable when you go shopping for pre-owned. There are fewer dial options on the Date compared to the DJ.

Good luck!
