Any official word on Tudor ADs coming to the US?
There's been a lot of talk of Tudor recently, I've heard that Tudor is coming to the US countless times. However, I'd like to know where this is coming from. I doubt Rolex has ever made it official, so are these rumors completely unsubstantiated? Have people heard it from managers at Rolex ADs? Another forum?

The top Tudor exec mentioned it 2 years ago at Basel but he really didn't offer anything firm

Purely from a Marketing POV (no inside Rolex info in my hands)...
Streamlining Distribution (the ADs and aligning Rolex USA) has progressed since then. But Sales Volume within the Rolex brand itself has not strengthened to the point where segmenting the product line in USA makes any sense.

I know that I'm a long time Rolex fan, and owner, with zero interest in purchasing a new SS Rolex for over $8,000. There are simply too many other options available in that price range. |

I talked to a Rolex boutique salesperson this summer and he definitely thought that Tudor would be coming back to the U.S., based on communications he had with Rolex. Then again, I was wearing this Tudor and looking at a Milgauss GV when he told me this. Talk is cheap!

They would definitely sell a ton of Tudors in the states.
Rolex has its own customers who would certainly keep buying any and every model just as they do now. The Tudor brand can be a starting point. Question is how would they market it? Tudor Boutiques? Or have Tudor on the same sales floor as Rolex? |

I have posted this previously, so sorry for the repeat.
My AD in MN told he he would be picking up Tudor upon their return to the states, which he suspected would be by mid-2013. What gives that some credibility is that he that the Rolex CEO had just visited his AD prior to him telling me this back in April or May. He has no reason to make it up, in my case, as I didn't express any interest in buying Tudor at the time. So that's all I have, for all its worth. |
