Z-Series Quick and Dirty
Hey folks,
Finally got my hands on the Daytona last night. Spent an awful amount of time looking at it up close. Now, what is the significance of that cryptic looking symbol on the 9 o'clock case-side? It looks like it's under a sticker, but I've seen it elsewhere, just never thought to ask what is it. Here's a morning-after shot |

Wow! Congratulations!!
I think the sticker you are talking about is a bar code type of symbol of some kind for Rolex's benefit. |

Looks great. Many SS Daytonas have been popping up at here, but not sure all have been acquired at MSRP. That's ok.

About the sticker: If you mean the little white sticker, it is a "bar code" that contains information about STOCK at the Rolex manufactory. The owner does not really have any use for it. One question: Does your Z-series Cos have the CRB ("ROLEXROLEX" Chapter Ring Branding)? Some late Z-series have it, you see. What are the first two letters ofter the Z, please?

Bo- You mean the earlier Zseries do not have the ROLEXROLEX on the CRB ? I have a Z8XXXXX .. and it has the ROLEXROLEX... Cheers |

Thanks for all the well wishes guys.
This really turned up like a surprise. I've only owned two other chronos in my time so far with watches. One an Omega Speedmaster Automatic, and the other a Breitling Navitimer LE. Both are 'antique' pieces, with the Breitling being kept till it's worth flipping. In short, I'm not a huge chrono fan and even went on record somewhere I'd never go out and buy a Daytona. Now that this one is in my possession, thanks to MrsJedi who couldn't resist a bargain although these things are never a bargain IMHO , I can see the attraction. As you can see from the dust on the CRB shot, I'm not one to baby my watches!! |

Just spent the evening out with friends at dinner with the Daytona on my wrist.
Comfortable. Easily readable dial. Great watch. Can't see it becoming a beater though, but it will be worn on rotation, I think I can guarantee that!! Thanks again guys. PS: Karis, we both love it, have to take turns in the evening admiring the timepiece!! |

Actually think it's an RF ID sticker
Read somewhere that it's more sophisticated that a bar code.
